Last month I visited the DISOBEDIENT BODIES exhibition at The Hepworth Gallery in Wakefield.
My all time design heroine is Rei Kawakubo of Comme des Garçons (CDG). So when I found out some of her work would be included,
I was soooo excited!
The Hepworth Gallery Wakefield
Curated by designer J.W. Anderson, the exhibit explores the relationships between the human form, art and fashion.
The pieces have been thoughtfully displayed, revealing and concealing as the viewer moves through the space to create a powerful exhibition.
The gallery is worthy of a visit in any case, great café and shop inside a fab piece of architecture. If you have kids, there’s an adventure playground to keep them happy. The Hepworth also holds art and craft classes (free of charge) for kids during school holidays.
Next on my hit list would be to visit The Met – Comme des Garçons – Art of The In-Between. I would LOVE to go.
Sadly, despite me costing up “really cheap” flights and accommodation to NYC, so far hubby isn’t taking the bait.
It’s on until September and I’m not giving up yet, so watch this space….
